Mountain Precision Rifle
Mountain Precision Rifle is a three-day course set to challenge a shooter both physically and mentally by engaging targets using tripods and natural terrain to include high angles, cross canyon engagements, advanced wind reading, and data collection. It will be a fun challenging experience that will enhance the participant’s overall shooting skills. This will be a physically demanding course, and we recommend you be able to carry your gear up rough terrain for a minimum of at least 100 yards.
This class is for ELR platforms in your caliber of choice. Rental rifles may be available to be used during this course.
*THOR’s Precision Rifle is a prerequisite for this course.

- Introduction to high angle shooting
- Kestrel Introduction and Data Entry
- Introduction to Tripod uses
- Wind estimation
- Shooting from natural terrain
Class begins each day at 8:30 a.m. and generally lasts until 5:30 p.m. (If you plan to travel home by air on the last day, please be prepared to stay in class until 5:30 p.m.)
Note: Please come prepared to carry your gear to different long-range shooting positions during the course.

- ELR rifle (zeroed at 100 yards)
- A minimum of 250 rounds of ammunition
- Quality scope with a ranging reticle, i.e. Horus H59, Tremor 3, or EBR-7C, etc.
- Spotting Scope & tripod
- Kestrel
- Laser Range Finder
- Shooting mat
- Gear Bag
- Notebook and pencil
- Calculator (cell phone)
- Cleaning equipment (solid rod, solvent, patches, lubricant)
- Hearing and eye protection
- Drinking water
- Weather appropriate clothing including rain gear (We shoot rain, shine, cold or hot.)
- Sandbag
- Sand sock/ Rear bag

- Knee and elbow pads

- Hat, sunblock, & SPF lip balm
